The Greatest Need right now is

rental assistance

Meet the Need

The Turlock Silvercrest opened in January 2002 and is a modern, state of the art, three-story apartment building

It contains 78 one-bedroom apartments and 2 management units. Each apartment has a bedroom, combination living and dining room, bath, kitchen, and two elevators serve the building. The first floor contains the building offices, a spacious lobby, a large multi-purpose recreation room and a coin-operated laundry. Rent is 30% of adjusted income and will be computed immediately prior to moving in, and will be adjusted annually.

The Turlock Silvercrest Residence made possible by a non-profit sponsorship of The Salvation Army.

Funding Programs

Turlock Silvercrest was developed and operates with Federal housing financing. The property utilizes the Section 202 Federal housing program to make rent affordable to lower income tenants.

Section 202

The property was developed with funding through the HUD Section 202 program which provides funding for housing for seniors who are 62 or older. The program provided both capital financing to construct the property and operating subsidies that work as rental assistance like the Section 8 program.
